CSL250 Curling and Lining Machine

The CSL250 integrates both curling and compound lining processes into a single machine, optimizing floor space, cycle times, and overall production efficiency.

The process begins with a feeding system composed of three knives positioner, ensuring proper flatness and correct presentation of the end before entering the working stations.

Automatic Cleaning System

The CSL250 incorporates the same automatic cleaning system used in the previous models, designed to ensure process stability and prevent injector clogging.

The system consists of:

  • Cleaning brush
  • Purge station
  • Water tank with automatic pumping system

At configurable intervals via the touchscreen:

  1. The head automatically moves to the cleaning station.
  2. The injector nozzle passes through the brush to remove external compound residues.
  3. The compound inside the injector is purged.
  4. The nozzle passes through the brush again before returning to the lining position.

During production stops:

  • The nozzle is positioned inside the water tank to prevent air intake.
  • This avoids compound drying inside the injector.
  • Before restarting production, the full brush → purge → brush cycle is automatically executed.

This system minimizes manual intervention, reduces downtime, and ensures consistent and reliable compound application.

Curling Station

Unlike the lining-only models, the CSL250 incorporates a full curling module prior to the lining station.

The curl forming process is performed by means of a die set, driven by two independent servo motors:

  • One acting on the upper tooling
  • One acting on the lower tooling

This configuration reduces process time by approximately half compared to traditional systems, where only the lower tool moves and must complete a significantly longer stroke.

Thanks to the fully servo-controlled movement, the system provides:

  • High precision during die impact
  • Fine adjustment of curl height directly from the touchscreen interface, with regulation in degrees

The machine also includes end presence detection, preventing die collision when no end is present. This significantly reduces:

  • Operating noise
  • Premature tooling wear
  • Maintenance requirements

During the curling process, ends are transported by four lateral fingers, driven by two high-precision endless side belts, similar to those used in the lining stations.

Lining Station

After curling, the end is transferred to the lining station.

At this stage, the end is transported by a central high-precision endless belt, which holds it from the center using push fingers.

Compound application is carried out by the Spider Head Liner, maintaining:

  • Constant linear speed
  • Constant pressure
  • Uniform and stable compound application

The injector follows the movement of each end during the process, completing the lining operation in a single cycle.
